Dabei strukturieren bzw. wählen Lernende, in Abstimmung mit den anderen Teilnehmern ihrer Lerngruppe, orts- und zeitflexibel ihr Lerntempo wie auch die Schwierigkeit des Lernstoffes weitgehend individuell und steuern somit ihre persönliche Wissensgenerierung und -erweiterung selbst. Bei dieser Form des Lernens spricht man mediendidaktisch von computersupported collaborative/ cooperative learning (CSCL). Eine gelungene virtuelle Lernkooperation ist abhängig von mehreren, komplexen und miteinander verbundenen Faktoren, die bei der Konzeption und Realisierung von E-Learning Angeboten zu bedenken sind. Gegenstand der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es differenziert aufzuzeigen, welche Rahmenbedingungen berücksichtigt werden sollten, damit kollaborative Gruppenarbeiten zu einem erfolgreichen Wissenstransfer führen können. Beim kollaborativen Lernen wechseln sich Phasen des individuellen Lernens und Gruppenlernphasen ab, so dass es in E-Learning-Szenarien nicht nur darum geht, dass jeder Teilnehmer für sich seinen Lernprozess individuell reguliert, sondern vielmehr auch darum, dass Gruppenaktivitäten aufeinander abgestimmt und in Einklang gebracht werden. Zudem stellen der technische Aufbau bzw. die Lernplattform, sowie die Betreuung der Lernszenarien durch E-Moderatoren und die methodisch-didaktische Vorbereitung wesentliche Eckpfeiler für zielführendes und erfolgreiches computerunterstützes kooperatives Lernen dar.
