VOWS IS THE FASCINATING MEMOIR of Earl and Mercy Anselm, born in India into the mixed heritage community of Anglo-Indians. Fate had chosen divergent paths for each, but divine intervention brought them together to marry and raise a family. The book also serves as a testament to Earl, a man of simple virtue and integrity. These core values prompted his decision to leave India in order to build a new life for his family in Canada. In VOWS, Mercy records her struggle to reconcile her religious vows with her love for Earl, and the challenges her family faced as immigrants in a new land. Grateful and proud to be Canadians, Mercy and Earl also revere their heritage and want successive Anselm generations to be aware of their family history.

Anselm, Mercy: - In 1984, Mercy and her family moved to Canada from India. Mercy and Earl recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Three of their four children live in Ontario. Their fourth lives in Calgary. Two are Mechanical engineers and two are Cardiologists. Mercy recently retired from her 35 year career as an Instructor in Economics and Finance at York and Ryerson Universities. Earl a successful engineer and entrepreneur is now retired.
