Das Buch ist auBerdem als Leitfaden fiir Studierende an technischen Lehranstalten zur Einfiihrung in die moderne Walzlagertechnik gedacht. Der Inhalt des Buches beschrankt sich auf die allgemeine und angewandte Lagertechnik. Auf die Behandlung theoretischer Probleme und die mathematische Herleitung von Berechnungsformeln wurde bewuBt verzichtet. Dagegen soU eine groBe Zahl von Abbildungen, insbesondere auch von ausgefiihrten Lagerungen aus verschiedenen Fachgebieten, die in den einzelnen Kapiteln behandelten speziellen Fragen an praktischen Beispielen erlautern und Anregungen fiir die konstruktive Gestaltung von Walzlagerungen geben.
