Charles S. Peirce' kategoriale Semiotik liefert die zeitgemä en Denkbedingungen, um sowohl der Eigenständigkeit der Religiosität wie ihrer wissenschaftlichen Darstellungsfähigkeit entsprechen zu können.
Die hier vorgelegten Aufsätze aus drei ig Jahren sind einerseits auf bestimmte Phasen der Kierkegaard-Rezeption bezogen, andererseits auf Detailstudien zu systematisch-theologischen und religionsphilosophischen Texten, Werken, Methodenfragen, und auf Konfliktfelder in der gegenwärtigen Diskussion (darunter William James' Religionsauffassung, Paul Tillichs Symbolbegriff, Kierkegaards Christologie, Vergleichspunkte zu Schleiermacher, Thomas Manns Mythosbegriff, Semiotik, Trinität, Kontingenz und Evolution). Im Ganzen entsteht das Bild eines kreativen Einflussraumes existentieller und wissenschaftlicher Wahrheit, in der sich wirkliches Leben und religiöse Idealität des Geistes verbinden.
