Brotherton, Velda: - A native of Northwest Arkansas, Velda Brotherton is an editor and feature writer for the Washington County Observer. Also a successful freelance writer of both fiction and nonfiction, she has penned articles that have appeared in such publications as Women's Home Journal and Country America Magazine, and she is the author of a trilogy of historically based novels. Brotherton's perspective on bringing local history to life for the younger generation is truly enlightening, and her remarkable tribute to Washington County's past will be treasured by readers of all ages.
