The purpose of this book is to provide the signposts and practical wisdom for us to develop ourselves to be a more loving person. We learn to love by loving; there is no other way. Dr Kung is sharing the insights he gained through opening his heart to others. He came across people who were at the end of the rope, which then broke. He had the strong feeling that someone should do something about it. Eventually, he turned out to be that someone. He believes that when we have been to dark caves and survived, we have to go back to help those still stuck in the caves. This book is a valuable resource that would enable us to enrich our relationships in different directions. It is written for young adults, parents, people at different stages of a relationship, those who feel alone or lost their directions, and those who would like to develop themselves to nurture others. The first lesson we need to learn is that it is in giving that we receive. Therefore, the most important thing in any relationship is not what we get, but what we give. When we found the wisdom to transform romantic love to genuine love, we would understand that our goal is to love others, not to find someone to fill up our need for love. Genuine love is beyond romance, the focus is on giving. the focus is on giving. It means that we always commit to the well-being of another unconditionally, that is with no expectation of return, and no matter how we feel, positive or negative. We have the kindness within ourselves, we just have to learn to release it, so that we can develop into someone kind and loving. When we enrich the lives of others in a positive way, unknowingly our lives are also changed in an equally beautiful way.

Dr Francis Kung's personal mission is to inspire others to think more, learn more, do more and become more. His first book "Ways to better living" (1st edition 2010) is about his philosophy regarding the purpose of life. Dr Kung currently resides in Melbourne, Australia. He devotes time caring for those who have temporarily lost their directions, and sharing insights he has learned from interacting with others. He has presented workshops on coping better with demands of daily life, understanding the way life works and appreciating the things that give meaning and satisfaction to our lives.
