Doris Probst ist Herausgeberin einer Buchreihe mit Aphorismen über das Alter, die Arbeit, die Ehe, Frauen, Fu ball, Kinder, die Liebe, Männer, die Medien und Mütter. Von ihr stammt auch das Taschenbuch "Adlerschrei und Zitronenfalter" mit Gedichten berühmter Schriftsteller über Tiere in Wort und Bild.

Ernst Probst, geboren 1946 in Neunburg vorm Wald (Bayern), absolvierte ab 1960 in Nürnberg erfolgreich eine Schriftsetzerlehre und wurde 1970 nach einem anderthalbjährigen Volontariat Zeitungsjournalist in Nürnberg, Bayreuth und Mainz. In seiner Freizeit schrieb er zahlreiche populärwissenschaftliche Artikel für Tageszeitungen (FAZ, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Welt, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Wiener Zeitung, Salzburger Nachrichten), Zeitschriften (kosmos, Damals, bild der wissenschaft, Deutsches Allgemeines Sonntagsblatt), Wissenschaftsdienste (Deutscher Forschungsdienst) und Nachrichtenagenturen (dpa, AP, KNA, epd) in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz sowie mehr als 300 Bücher, Taschenbücher, Broschüren und E-Books über die Erdgeschichte, Menschheitsgeschichte und berühmte Frauen. Sein Buch "Deutschland in der Urzeit" (1986) gilt als das erste populärwissenschaftliche Werk über die Erdgeschichte von Deutschland und wurde im "Spiegel" vorgestellt. Seine Werke über die Urzeit, Steinzeit, Bronzezeit, Dinosaurier, Raubkatzen und berühmte Personen befinden sich in zahlreichen Bibliotheken der ganzen Welt und werden in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur zitiert.
