Da sich unter den Blumen des Strau es eine befindet, die in dem Garten gewachsen ist, den HEISENBERG gegenwärtig bestellt, zeugt von lebendiger Gegenwart und von einer Zukunft, der wir voller Erwartung entgegensehen. Nicht nur der Dank, auch die Hoffnung vereint die Autoren, HEISENBERG möge uns auf dem Wege in neues Land noch lange vorangehen. Es ist unmöglich in einem solchen Bande alle diejenigen zu Worte kommen zu lassen, die sich in dem Wunsche zu danken verbunden fühlen. Die Auswahl der Autoren ist darum von mancherlei Zufällen abhängig. Wir hatten uns bei der Bitte um Beiträge von dem Gedanken leiten lassen, da jedes Gebiet, welches von HEISEN- BERGS Arbeiten seinen Ausgang genommen hat oder durch sie bereichert worden ist, durch eine Gabe seiner Freunde, Schüler und Mitarbeiter vertreten sein sollte, so da man hoffen durfte, mit dem Festband ein Spektrum seines bisherigen Schaffens gegeben zu haben. Doch hat sich dieses Ziel nicht ganz verwirklichen lassen. Es gibt Lücken, Doppelbesetzungen und auch Arbeiten, die keine enge Berührung mit denen HEISENBERGS haben.
