In the hopes of promoting justice, peace, and solidarity for and with the Palestinian people, Udi Aloni joins with Slavoj Zizek, Alain Badiou, and Judith Butler to confront the core issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through a collage of meditation, interview, diary, and essay, Aloni and his interlocutors present a personal, intellectual, and altogether provocative account rich with the insights of philosophy and critical theory. They ultimately foresee the emergence of a binational Israeli-Palestinian state, incorporating the work of Walter Benjamin, Edward Said, and Jewish theology to recast the conflict in secular theological terms.

Badiou, Alain: - Alain Badiou (PhD, Philosophy, Ecole Normale Superieure) holds the Rene Descartes Chair at the European Graduate School; he also teaches at the Ecole Normale Superieure and the College International de Philosophie in Paris. He is the author of several successful novels and plays as well as more than a dozen philosophical works, including his masterwork, Being and Event (Continuum, 2007), and several Columbia titles, includng Plato's Republic (2013) and Jacques Lacan Past and Present (2016).

Butler, Judith: - Judith Butler (PhD, Philosophy, Yale) is the Maxine Eliot Professor in the Departments of Rhetoric and
Comparative Literature and the Program of Critical Theory (of which she was the Founding Director) at the University of California at Berkeley. Among her many works are Subjects of Desire: Hegelian Reflections in Twentieth-Century France (Columbia, 2012), Parting Ways: Jewishness and the Critique of Zionism (Columbia, 2012), Antigone's Claim: Kinship Between Life and Death (Columbia, 2002), and (with Jurgen Habermas, Charles Taylor, and Cornel West) The Power of Religion in the Public Sphere (Columbia, 2011).

Zizek, Slavoj: - Slavoj Zizek (PhD, Philosophy, Ljubljana) is Senior Researcher at the Institute for Sociology and Philosophy at the University of Ljubljana, Global Distinguished Professor of German at New York University, and International Director of the Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities at the University of London. An internationally renowned psychoanalytic philosopher, cultural critic, and Hegelian Marxist, he is the author of numerous books, including Less than Nothing: Hegel and the Shadow of Dialectical Materialism (Verso, 2012) and Absolute Recoil: Towards a New Foundation of Dialectical Materialism (Verso, 2014).
