What Every Christian Should Know about Islam can be read profitably by the serious student or by anyone who just wants to get a basic handle on the religion founded by Muhammed almost 1400 years ago. It is a distillation of the history and teachings of Islam written from a Christian perspective. An entire chapter is devoted to answering the false claims one will commonly find on Islamic web sites. Another chapter covers the subject of Islam and terrorism, and that the utilization of it as a jihadist tactic comes out of the tradition and philosophy of the revolutionary Left, rather than from the religion of Islam itself. Some other less-known facts one will discover in this book include the following: Muhammed married one of his favorite wives when she was merely a child of about nine That the Sunni/Shia division of Islam had its origin in a feud between two of Mecca's clans that dates from pre-Islamic times The god of Islam, Allah, was originally the Lunar Deity of the pre-Islamic pagan Arabs That Islam itself began as a Christian heresy Muslims originally faced Jerusalem, and not Mecca, while in prayer Mr. Anderson studied Biblical languages at Life Pacific College in Los Angeles, graduating with a BA degree in 1979. He also has AS degrees from Riverside Community College in Riverside, California. Following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, he determined to learn everything he could about Islam and the jihadist threat. What Every Christian Should Know about Islam is a product of approximately 4 years of research. Mr. Anderson has taught the Bible, Christian doctrine, and apologetics for many years in various churches in Southern California's Inland Empire.
