Whispers of the Two Rivers: Fairy Tales From Mesopotamia invites readers into a world where ancient magic breathes through the sands of time, and the legends of the Tigris and Euphrates come alive once more. Blending folklore, fantasy, and timeless moral lessons, this enchanting collection reimagines Mesopotamian tales for a new generation.

From mischievous river spirits and clever village children to wandering kings, forgotten gods, and mythical creatures of the desert night, each story carries the rhythm of a land known as the cradle of civilization. These tales explore courage, kindness, destiny, and the unseen forces that guide our lives, told with warmth, wonder, and the storytelling traditions passed down through centuries.

Perfect for readers who love magical realism, world mythology, and stories that illuminate the beauty of ancient cultures, Whispers of the Two Rivers is both a celebration and a preservation of Mesopotamian imagination. Step into a world where every whisper carries a secret, every river holds a memory, and every tale reminds us that magic has always lived in the heart of humanity.

Altaie, Mustafa: - My name is Mustafa AlTaie, and I was born in Babylon, Iraq, the heartland of ancient Mesopotamia. As a child, I wandered among the ruins of Babylon, captivated by its mighty walls, mysterious cuneiform inscriptions, and the legends of kings who once ruled the ancient world. I was deeply inspired by the stories passed down from my parents and older siblings, as well as the history books I devoured that spoke of a glorious past.I was especially drawn to the tales of Baghdad's Golden Age, when poets, scientists, and thinkers filled the streets, and the great House of Wisdom stood as a beacon of learning. I loved reading about One Thousand and One Nights, imagining the wonder of those times. It amazed me how Muslim scholars of that era translated knowledge from across civilizations, from China, India, Greece, Rome, and Egypt, into Arabic, and then preserved, expanded, and returned these treasures back to the world.I wrote Whispers of the Two Rivers: Fairy Tales from Mesopotamia to breathe life into some of Mesopotamia's forgotten history. Over time, much of this rich heritage has faded from memory. My goal is to rekindle it in a way that's both entertaining and educational, through fictional tales rooted in real history, culture, and mythology. In 2007, I moved to the United States, where I have lived ever since. I pursued a degree in Education with a focus on History, and during my college years, I found great joy studying the ancient world, starting with the very place where civilization was born: Mesopotamia.Through this book, I hope young readers around the world can discover the wonders of my homeland's past and be inspired by the stories that shaped humanity's earliest dreams.
