Deanne Myrick is a native New Yorker, born, raised and inspired in Brooklyn, NY. Deanne has always expressed her love of film and interest in film and television production. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Towson University, majoring in Television and Film Production, and a Master's Degree from Long Island University Majoring in Film Theory and Media Arts. At Towson University Deanne helped launch the campus' new Television Station (known then as TSTV). While there she worked in a number of capacities; working as Camera Operator for original programs created by students and (FCC licensed) Master Control operator. She also worked in Programming, responsibilities included: developing program schedule for shows and commercials for on air viewing and scheduled master control operators per programming slots. While at TSTV; Deanne was able to secure the PBS series "Eyes on The Prize: America's Civil Rights Years 1954 - 1965", for viewing on TSTV during Black History Month, February 1993, introducing the program to a whole new & diverse generation of student viewers. While adding a multitude of titles to her production resume, including: (Audience Coordinator for "Youth Talk" produced by The Baldwin Group, Production Assistant for the Obie Award winning play, The Maafa Suite and Publicity Manager for True Blue Records, a subsidiary of Def Jam Records). Deanne's true joy is in the art of storytelling. Receiving her first professional co-writing credit in the fall 1995, for her work on the stage production "A Hidden Feud" produced by the Theater For A Greater Peace in Brooklyn, NY. She has also written for Long Island University's Seawanhaka newspaper as a Staff Writer for the Arts and Film section. While at Long Island University Deanne continued to hone her skills and love for screenwriting. Who Killed Leslie Cummins? The book was inspired by an original screenplay written by Deanne and has been adapted into this novella with the creative assistance of celebrated playwright and author, Mr. Curtis Jones .
