About The Author

Calcutta-born Suprita Das is an award-winning author and sports media professional. After a decade as a sports correspondent and anchor at NDTV, where she covered major global events including the Olympic Games, she went on to lead communications and digital content for the Delhi Capitals cricket franchise.

Her books include Shadow Fighter, the official biography of Indian boxer Sarita Devi, and Free Hit: The Story of Women’s Cricket in India, which won the National Laadli Media & Advertising Award (Non-fiction Books) in 2020.

Her work has appeared in Vogue India, BBC, the Hindu and Mint, among others. She currently works as an independent writer and sports content producer. This is her third book.
