She has served as an Evangelist, Executive Pastor, Intercessory Prayer Team Ministry Leader, and Training Institute Instructor, all of which led her to develop an unbroken passion for connecting the hearts and lives of people with prayer and the practical Word of God. Betty has also had a 28-year career in corporate commercial lending and regulatory compliance.

Word for Today is a devotional born from an intense desire to take what she has collected from her personal spiritual development and share it with eager lives. She often says, "Knowing who you are in God is key to experiencing the promised abundant life in Christ."

Evangelist Betty currently resides in Southern California. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters -- Nanysa, Naomi, and Malloree -- and is a widow after 38 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Glenn Eugene Samilton, who went home to be with the Lord in July, 2017.
