She has taught with the California Poets in the Schools program for twenty-plus years and regularly leads Inspired Creativity Workshops for kids and adults at Book Passage Bookstore in Corte Madera, California, and in schools and libraries. With her husband, twelve-year-old son, and a cat named Clive, she lives north of the Golden Gate Bridge, where she prefers letters delivered to her physical mailbox, though she can be reached at her virtual one via www.karenbenke.com.
