You Matter!
That's it, simple as that. You matter. Let it sink in. You matter. You matter to yourself, and you matter to your community, and you matter to the world. And guess what, what you choose to do now, in your youth, also matters. Don't wait to start making the right decisions in your life. The time to start your life is now, and you have the power to do so. Every choice you make, from today on out, matters. It determines where you will end up in life. So I want you to know that it is up to you and you alone what you do with your life.
You might come from a rich family or a poor family, a great school or a not-so-great school, from a penthouse or from a crack house. But none of those things are you. Plenty of rich people ruin their lives and plenty of poor people rise to greatness. Plenty of people die alone on the street without anyone who cares, and plenty of people have thousands or even millions of people attend their funerals, mourning the fact that they are no longer here sharing their light with the world.
And do you know what? There is only one thing that separates those who live a great life from the ones who live a poor life (if you can even call that living), and that is the choices they make. That is right. Living a life that matters is as simple as making the right choices. It doesn't matter what you have done in the past or even what you are doing right now. Each day is a new day, and you can make the decision right now to make your youth matter, to start using the time you have now to start creating the life you really want in the future. Because let me tell you, if you don't start steering your own life and telling life what you want, it will steer you. And if you leave your life to chance now, you won't have a chance to do or have what you really want in the future.
You can do something meaningful in your life, and what I am going to teach you in this book will help you do just that. How do I know it will work? Because I have lived it myself. I have failed. I have done illegal things. And I came from nothing. But now I am teaching students all over the world how they can use a few simple steps and the right mindset to start shaping their life the way they want it, while they still have the time to do so.
Now is the time to get started. Right now, while you are still young and still have time on your side. Right now, when so many good things are waiting on your horizon. Right now, before your bad habits become your life. Right now, before the responsibility piles up. Right now, while you still have the energy to change.
Youth matters, you matter, and what you make of your life starts now, with you!
