Oft wird mit Zirkuslektionen begonnen, wenn das Pferd krankheitsbedingt pausieren muss - aber welche Lektionen sind passend für welches Pferd? Welche Übungen belasten welche Strukturen? Und was ist überhaupt bei welcher Erkrankung geeignet? Dr. Berit Ullmann, Tierärztin für Kleintiere und Pferde mit dem Zusatz der Chiropraktik, beantwortet diese Fragen und zeigt Möglichkeiten eines geeigneten Trainings bzw. passender Beschäftigung auf, wenn das Pferd auf Grund von gesundheitlichen Einschränkungen nicht geritten oder bewegt werden kann. Die Ausführung verschiedener Übungen (wie beispielsweise der Spanische Schritt, das Hinlegen oder die Bergziege) werden detailliert beschrieben und mit anschaulichen Bildern unterlegt. Die unterschiedlichen Belastungen auf einzelne Partien des Pferdekörpers werden anhand biomechanischer Zusammenhänge erklärt. Dem Leser wird so eine Hilfestellung bei der richtigen Wahl und Umsetzung der Lektionen, insbesondere bei bestehender Vorerkrankung des Pferdes, geboten.
