Bezüglich Leseverständnis werden die Wortlesefähigkeit, die Leseflüssigkeit sowie das Textverständnis näher erklärt. Hinsichtlich Vorstellungskraft werden die verschiedenen Arten von Vorstellungskraft, der Symbolic Distance Effect, die räumlichen und visuellen Eigenschaften als auch die Dual Coding Theorie genauer dargelegt. Des Weiteren wird im Anschluss mithilfe einer durchgeführten Studie der Frage nachgegangen, ob beziehungsweise inwiefern sich diese beiden Faktoren gegenseitig beeinflussen und miteinander interagieren.
