So erfreulich das zunehmende Interesse an diesen Problemen ist, so wiirde es noch weit erfreulicher und der Sache niitzlicher sein, wenn das in der Offentlichkeit verbreitete Bild den tatsach- lichen Verhaltnissen entsprache. Das ist aber leider nicht der Fall. Die Schadlingsbekampfung ist zu einem Gegenstand von Aus- einandersetzungen geworden, die von nichtfachlicher Seite meist unsachlich gefUhrt werden. Die Bevolkerung ist auJ;erstande an Hand der widersprechenden DarsteHungen ein richtiges Bild von der Situation und Problematik zu gewinnen.
