Franz Spengler wurde im August im Bayerischen Wald geboren. Nach seiner Ausbildung als Koch, zog es ihn nach Munchen. Dort arbeitete er einige Jahre als Barkeeper in Insiderdiskotheken. Mit 28 Jahren zog er nach Essen/Ruhr und arbeitete wieder als Koch. Dort lief ihm ein Kater zu, den er Felix taufte. Nachdem jemand seinen Kater Felix etwas sehr schlimmes angetan hatte und er immer mehr horte und hilflos mit ansehen musste, wie andere Tiere gequalt wurden, schrieb er dieses einfuhlsame Buch. Franz Spengler hat sich seid einigen Jahren dem schreiben von Kinderbuchern, Kinder und Jugendtheaterstucken, Kinderlieder texten und dem Horbuch besprechen gewidmet. Der Autor lebt seid 2003 mit seiner Familie in Ostfriesland. Seid einem Schlusselerlebnis mit seinem Kater Felix, ernahrt er sich vegetarisch/vegan. Der Autor beschaftigt sich weiter noch mit alternativer Medizin und mit Quantenheilung."
